Thinking of getting some Nama Chocolate for Valentine’s Day but find it too cliché? Well, why not make some yourself! Here’s a recipe to help you out. Trust us, it’s really simple and bound to impress with its melt-in-your-mouth goodness. What’s more, you can go a step further by making your own customized gift box for it. After all, everything is so much better when it’s made with love isn’t it?

Ingredients

400g dark chocolate (70% cacao)
200ml Heavy cream
Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

Step 1

Line a baking tray with baking paper. For this portion size, a 20 x 20 tray would be just right.

Step 2

Chop the chocolate into small pieces for easy melting.

Step 3

Warm up the heavy cream in a pot and add it to the chocolate over a double boiler. Stir
the mixture until completely combined.

(Tip: If you get mixture which splits easily, try using a cream with a higher fat percentage. Ofcourse, also ensure that your utensils are completely dry and that you do not overheat the chocolate.)

Step 4

Pour the mixture into the baking dish and even out the top. Ideal thickness of the chocolate should be approximately 1cm. Refrigerate for 3 hours.

Step 5

Once the chocolate has set, remove it from the baking paper and dust on some cocoa powder using a fine sieve. Cut into bite-sized pieces and serve.
